From the Desk of the APCTT Head
I
am pleased to introduce the "Technology4sme.Net" that we, at the Asian and
Pacific Center for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), have developed with the
objective to promote technology transfer in the Asia Pacific region, with a
particular focus on small and medium enterprises. Our efforts have been made possible thanks to the generous funding support provided by GTZ (German Agency for Technical Cooperation).
The website is promoted under the brand name of Technology Market, which is
essentially a web-based market space for technology suppliers and seekers to
exchange their technology offers and requests. The usefulness of the website
can be gauged from the following:
- The website addresses the key issue of interest to the small and
medium enterprises, i.e. easier access to information on the availability of
the latest technologies, with a particular focus on the Asia and Pacific
region;
- The website maintains a comprehensive database of technology
offers and requests and technology suppliers and seekers from the Asia Pacific
region and beyond;
- It provides technology news and information on technology
oriented events planned in several countries with the objective to facilitate
cooperation among technology based enterprises from across the Asia Pacific
region;
I am sure the "technology4sme" website will prove to be of great
benefit to all our stakeholders and effectively serve as an excellent platform
for SMEs looking for technology partnerships from across the Asia Pacific
region.
