Magnesia Spinelide refractory (MSR), an improved basic brick made from low grade raw materials, is coating-friendly and highly resistant to clinker melt. The main features are its relatively higher hot modulus of rupture (HMOR) and resistance to thermal spalling. Cost Effective LP Gas Operated Crematorium

NERD Centre of Sri Lanka has developed and successfully commercialized a cost effective LP gas operated crematorium. This technology has already been transferred to 4 Sri Lankan licencees. NERD Centre in collaboration with these 4 licencees have succesfully inslatted and commissioned 70 units in urban and provincial councils of Sri Lanka.

Rice Husk Particle Board

Rice husk received from the rice mill is winnowed and wind-sifted and then coated with synthetic resin adhesive in specially designed adhesive applicators. The resin coated husk is spread as an even mat on support cauls & consolidated under heat and pressure in a hydraulic hot press. An Indian organization is offering an economical way for manufacturing fly ash bricks. The process stipulates mixing of fly ash, sand, lime and a small quantity of chemical accelerator in a desired proportion. Suitable quantity of water is added to prepare a homogenized mix of raw materials. Fly ash being a non plastic material the raw mix is subjected to a pressure of approximately 250 kx/sq.cm in a suitable hydraulic press.
